Bloating is a body signal that you a) aren’t chewing enough, b) are eating trouble makers or c) need a boost of good bacteria. Here’s a basic checklist to keep gas & bloating at bay:
- Chew. It’s the MOST important step for healthy digestion. Chew your food until it’s “applesauce-texture” before swallowing. Aim for 15-20 chews per bite.
- Avoid Trouble Makers. Diet foods such as sugar-free gum/desserts/candy & the bubbles of carbonated beverages can cause bloat.
Eat Good Bacteria. Build an army of helpful bugs in your gut. Aim to have yogurt, kefir, kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles, tempeh or miso once a day.
